I have a 24 gallon tank. It has been running for a little over 7 months. I have a pair of snowflake clowns that have been in the tank for over a month. I was wondering if I could add a lawnmower blenny to the mix.
Looking to add a Mandarin aswell. My concern is I have a scooter blenny and a diamond goby. Will this make too much competition for pods? I do have a refugium.
90g tank
Other fish are
2 Pajama Cardinals
1 yellow tang
Solar Wrasse
2 clowns
Foxface
Damsel
Thanks for you help in advance

Hi,
Thinking of buying a Red Sea Max c130 which is 34 gallons including the rear sump. Tank will have live rock and softies plus a few LPS.
Current stocking ideas are:
Pair of clowns (would appreciate advice on most suitable species)
A Bicolour Blenny
A Spangled Shrimp goby (with associated shrimp)
A Fireball Dwarf angel (or other dwarf angel species if more suitable) dwarf angels really need a larger tank
Thanks
Paul
Hi Steve
In a 75 gal tank
I am ready to order fish to enter QT. The tank will be cycled in about 2 week fore sure. Actually the rock has been cycling out side in barrels for the last 4 months.
I will have 2 clowns (no nemo's), what species?
3 yello watchmen, only one unless a bonded pair
2 yellow tail Damsils,
a Kole tang ,
1 wormfish.
Fires shrimp,
3 ceaners only two since a male female will work, but more will not
some snails and softies.
Thanks so much
135g mixed reef, 72x18x24, 55 gallon sump, 130 lbs live rock, 100 lbs sand, SRO 3000
im setting up my quarantine tank this weekend while the big ones getting set up
quarantined and added in order
3x blue green chromis will become one over time; be sure to quarantine as these are susceptible to uronema marinum
yellow watchman and pink spotted goby I would only do one (either)
3x zebra barred dartfish
red firefish
2x banggai cardinals tank raised male plus female would work
royal gramma
2x occelaris clown
midas blenny will nip fins of planktivores such as the firefish and starry blenny
flame fairy wrasse
melanarus wrasse
yellow tamarin wrasse difficult; must have a mature tank for this to work
powder blue tang three tangs is pushing it for long term, if you do a yellow, it must be added last
yellow tang
kole tang
too much?
thanks again!![]()
I am sorry for my double posting screwups.
I have a 75 gal SW tank 40 gal sump with fuge. 120 lbs of LR , 2" SB
I want to order my first 3 fishes that will enter QT. (3 different tanks)
Of the below list, which 3 would you suggest I order now.
Softies sps.
I would like to have:
2 Blue Green Chromis
2 Ocellaris clownfishes
2 yellow watchmen, only one is likely to work, but this could be first
2 yellow tail Damsils,
1 Kole tang , last
1 Flame Angel next to last
2 Wormfish.
Fire shrimp,
2 Cleaner shrimp
6 Pepperment shrimps
1 Mandrine way down the road.
2 brittle stars
What should go into the QTs first?
Thanks for all you do.
Looking to start stocking my 65, I currently have a pair of occ clowns a few snails and a couple hermits. I am leaning towards a one spot fox face as my main fish. What else could I get in there?
As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. However I am always happy to review stocking lists as long as tank size is also provided. Since a one spot fox face will be your main fish, avoid fish in the same ecological niche (which are algae grazers).
Hi Steve, I've posted on here before, but I'm finally about to set up my 75g mixed reef (started the process this weekend. The setup of a saltwater tank is quite a bit more time consuming than a FW, haha.)
Anyway, here's what i'm thinking, this first group is the "for sure" ones i want
Kole Tang
2 Ocellaris Clowns
Flamehawk not shrimp safe
Diamond Goby
Lawnmower Blenny
Then, i'm also thinking of these, it'll depend on what you have to say here, however:
Flame Angel - I know you've said they will likely eat corals, but let's for the sake of this pretend i'm willing to take that gamble. What are your thoughts from just a room/bioload viewpoint. an algae grazer so with a Kole tang and lawnmower blenny that would be three algae grazers so you would need to supplement with Nori
Midas Blenny will nip planktivore fins
Mandarin - I'd like to get one of these guys, but i know i have to wait at least 6 months, probably more. If, when the time comes that the tank is ready, i still feel up to the challenge I'd like to add one. If I feel like i have my hands full with the tank as it is, then I'd like to get:
Mcosker's Flasher Wrasses (1 male? a 2:1 trio) a trio would be fine but would exclude a mandarin because they are copepod consumers
I'm guessing i can't add all these fish, but i'm wondering after my "must have" list, what room (if any) I have to add any more.
