Ok Steve,

Time for a resubmit.. can you also advise as to order of introduction?
# indicates what I think should be...?

40g long (hoping to get as many tank bred fish as i can)

Hopefully all will be juvies if possible for clowns, they MUST be juveniles, the remainder does not need to be
1 black and white TB occelaris #4
1 orange and white TB occelaris #4
1 zebra dart goby #1
1 TB neon goby #2
1 TB yellow watchman goby + pistol shrimp #3
1 coral beauty #5

CUC
snails (no hermits/crabs at least not intentionally)
1 peppermint shrimp
1-2 cleaner shrimp

Looks great! Note clownfish comment. your order is fine

Steve, I should ask.. would there be any issues getting the 2 clowns at the same time and tossing them into a 15g QT tank for the 4 weeks? The aim will be to get them from the same store, but they will be coming from different tanks, and then being stuck together in such a small tank for 4 weeks.

That should be fine for the short term you would be doing so. QT is good practice.

Wondering if Cuban or Lyretail Hogfish are reef safe with lots of snails a single crab and single shrimp. Mostly LPS and Softies.

Ok, here is revision 2 of my stocking list..

for 57 gal reef tank:

Blue Reef Chromisa X3
Ocellaris Clownfish x2
Flame Angelfish
Six Line Wrasse
Royal Gramma Basslet

Could I still get the six line if I added it last?

CUC:
assorted snails
1 peppermint shrimp
1-2 cleaner shrimp

Would there be any way I could get/keep the orange sea star? Would supplementing its diet help keep it from starving?

Ok, here is revision 2 of my stocking list..

for 57 gal reef tank:

Blue Reef Chromisa X3 Unfortunately a group of chromis usually becomes one or two
Ocellaris Clownfish x2
Flame Angelfish
Six Line Wrasse I recommend against
Royal Gramma Basslet

Otherwise, fine

assorted snails
1 peppermint shrimp
1-2 cleaner shrimp

Sea stars do best in large mature aquaria, in your sized tank, the odds are against

Would supplementing its diet help keep it from starving?

I am so sorry but I do not offer opinions on aggressive tanks. Try the aggressive fish forum for best results.

Ok, here is revision 3 of my stocking list..
3rd revision of stocking list..

for 57 gal reef tank:

I dropped the fame angel because I heard it might pick at corals.
I'm trying to catch most of the colors of the rainbow in my tank.. if you had any other suggestions, they'd be welcome!

Dispar Anthias
Ocellaris Clownfish x2
Royal Gramma Basslet
Blue Reef Chromisa X2
Kaudern's Cardinal
Green Clown Goby

** would any of these above be prone to jumping?

CUC:
assorted snails
1 peppermint shrimp
1-2 cleaner shrimp

BTW.. thanks for the insight and advice Steve.. greatly appreciated!

Dispar Anthias
Ocellaris Clownfish x2
Royal Gramma Basslet
Blue Reef Chromisa X2 two may work, but may end up as one
Kaudern's Cardinal can go after shrimp or small fish
Green Clown Goby

** would any of these above be prone to jumping?

All fish can jump, but none are prone to jumping

CUC:
assorted snails
1 peppermint shrimp
1-2 cleaner shrimp

BTW.. thanks for the insight and advice Steve.. greatly appreciated!

You are most welcome. Always a pleasure to help.

Snorvich, first of all let me tell you thank you for helping the Reefcentral community with their fish purchases.

I just upgraded to a 75 gallon tank, 120 SWC skimmer, 8 gallon fuge, appx. 40lbs of live rock. The only fish i have in currently are some Ocellaris clowns (pair). I wanted to add

Forcipiger Flavissimus (really wanted your opinion/ experiance with this one)

Ctenochaetus tominesis

Cirrhilabrus solorensis

And possibly 2~3 Paracheilinus filamentosus

Thanks again!

Snorvich, can I get your thoughts on my stocking list and the best order to add them? This is for a custom 85G peninsula tank. Thanks.

Yellow watchman goby & pistol shrimp
Yellow Eye Kole tang
McCosker's Flasher Wrasse
Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse
Coral Beauty
Oscelaris Clown fish

Cleaner shrimp
Fire shrimp

Questions about adding an additional pair of clown fish to a 205. Current stock list

1 PD Brown Tang
1 PD Blue Tang
1 Yellow Tang
3 Purple firefish
2 Blue Flasher Wrasse
1 Mccosker's Flasher wrasse
1 Exquisite Fairy Wrasse
1 Mystery Wrasse
1 Scott's Fairy Wrasse
2 Clown (Red Head Wrasse)
1 Leopard (meleagris)
2 Leopard (bipartitus)
2 Diamond Gobies
1 Lyretail Anthias
3 Orange Anthias
3 Bartlett's Anthias
3 Ignitus Anthias
1 Chromis
2 Black Osc/Perc always confusing the two.

The Black clowns are pretty good size, they seem to have paired up but are both roughly the same size about 1.5-2". I have had this pair for about 2 years now, and they have taken a liking to my Orange Crush Echinata. The Echinata is about 2" away from a tiny rose bubble tip anemone in the front corner of the tank. I have purchase a pair of "Black Ice" oscelaris at a local swap, the pair are at most 1". Right now they are happy in my fuge tank, but I would like to add them to the display. What are my options of adding them to the DT?

I'd love to have some thoughts on my beginning tank and a dew pointers as far as my selection of fish so far and to come!
25g nano reef, with 3 stage filter (a pretty humble setup, especially after reading some posts), but I change about a quarter of my water weekly. My tank is about 2 weeks old, and I got live sand and LR from the aquarium store I shop at, so made for an easy setup, but here are my current residents in Casa de Reef (I named my tank).
2 oscellaris clownfish
3 emerald crabs
1 sallie Lightfoot crab
4 tiny electric blue hermits

I want this tank to be a coral tank so I've gotten from what I've researched a modest cleaning crew, but here are my hopeful future residents
1 bangalaii cardinalfish
1 Pygmy blue angelfish or fishers angelfish
1 six stripe wrasse
And lastly a hardly group of coral to finish things out! That would put 6 fish in a 25g tank with some inverts and hardy coral to round things out. Thoughts suggestions and advice is always welcome!

Excellent fish, ideally should be added early

Ctenochaetus tominesis good choice

Cirrhilabrus solorensis Can be on the aggressive side, and absent a female will lose some coloration

And possibly 2~3 Paracheilinus filamentosus M + FEMALES is fine, but not two males

Thanks again!

My pleasure.

I think your list is fine. I see no compatibility issues. I would add the coral beauty and tang last since they do best in more mature tanks.
