Still having fun...300 gallon in wall reef

Nice work Mike it is really looking good. Did you get the background yet?
Thanks! I have the blue acrylic sheets for the back and sides. They're just low priority at the moment. Mainly focused on life support systems. Now that everything is wet, getting skimmed and circulated, and well lit, I'm going to slow down.

Looking very good, I like the two doors you stuck in either side of the fish room.. I have a thing for symmetry (sp?) ;)

Mike, help me out with your Loc-Line experience, please. I'd like to set up my returns similar to yours. Do you drill syphon-break holes directly into the Loc-Line itself?

Thanks

Any reason you didn't make the overflows external?
Couldn't get Marineland on the same page.

Tom, I drilled the siphon breaks in the first joint of the loc-line that is over water. Make sure you retest it if you adjust the position of the loc-line.

I mounted all the ballasts, and Neptune Systems equipment today. I still need to clean up the wires quite a bit. The overhead lumber is temporarily hoding up the lights until the Stanley door roller kit arrives, then the permanent light supports will get installed. Still have to connect the Aquasurf to the Tunzes, connect the breakout box to the ato floats, and plug in all the stuff that goes to the DC8.

The light rack from the 390. Still needs to be shortened and the outside reflectors permenantly attached. I wanted to correctly position them over the rock pillars prior to attaching them to the rails.

I am using an American DJ 15 amp, 4 switch unit on each end of the stand to control pumps, skimmer, and other items that require turning off and on regularly. You can also see the two 36 inch long, 28 inch high "steps" behind the tank. They are light weight, easy to move, and provide great access to the inside of the tank.

Very nice, this is the exact tank I was looking at getting when we get a new house. No room for it in this one. Also love the rock pillars, they look similar to the ones I have in my tank now.

Thanks Kevin, Once I get the blue acrylic panels on the outside of the back and sides, it should look better. I hate seeing all the cords behind the tank.

I never would have thought that dark blue wall would look good , but it looks awesome . It will look even better with the blue panels installed . Way to go Mike

Ted

Thanks Ted, I'm liking it.

Reefski's: I've got some bar stools, and it's hard to tell from the picture, but the bottom horizontal trim is actually a "beer ledge". It's a 1x10.

Reefski's and SMOOTHIE, playing pool and drinking beer anywhere an aquarium has always been a challenge, but I've always managed to keep the glass protected from the wild ones!!!

Electrobes and Tom, thank you very much. I like it!
