I think youre confusing paracentropyge boylei and centropyge narcosis. The collector of the centropyge nacrcosis got the bad case of nitrogen narcosis, and thats how the fish got second part of its name. Im surprised people still get surprised hearing about expensive fish when you could go on divers den and see lots of expensive fish for sale. If i had the money i would get two and try to breed them to get my money back plus profit, but that will never happen. and by the way, these fish arent very hardy, so whoever purchases one has to be a very daring individual. If you don't know already, the reason for the high price tag on this fish is due to the fact that it is collected in the twilight zone. The twilight zone refers to 200 ft to 1500 ft. The first collectors of this fish suffered such a severe case of nitrogen narcosis due to the low depth, that they couldn't even recall collecting the fish.
Would you purchase a Peppermint Angelfish (Paracentropyge boylei) for $4000 dollars?
Yes, it is a very beautiful fish, although I like to have my fish live and thrive so I am able to enjoy the results of aquarium husbandry.
I think for the price I would have to win a very large mega lottery and employ a full time fish Veterinarian to manage my new brand new Paracentropyge boylei species tank.
would have to mount that baby
Nah, I would get two.
Seriously. I would walk out into the street and feed 1000 homeless people before spending that kind of money on any pet.
Was there REALLY a need to bump a 3+ year old thread for that comment lol?
...and probably in more ways than one.
