A Smart? Aquarium in Taiwan...

I am thinking add two Kessil A360WE tuna sun (what is the different of tuna sun and tuna blue?)

The Sun is a daylight balanced light for freshwater aquariums. It's 6500 kelvin.

You want the Tuna Blue, 10K to 20K, for reef tanks.

The Kessil goosenecks are excellent and will work as you've drawn them.

They're excellent lights and grow SPS wonderfully in combination with T5s or without T5s.

Different brands/company of LEDs have different effect on coral coloration.

Very true, but you're clearly not familiar with Kessil.

Kessil designs and builds their own LEDs. They were a leader in the horticulture industry before venturing into the aquarium market approximately 6 years ago The A350/A360s use a dense matrix of their own design and they're outstanding for reef tanks.

I read some paper mentioned yellow and blue are easy color for SPS, but true blue and true yellow seem most challenge to me ;-(
The tunnel is design for water pass through to center since I choose lagoon type aquascape. I like the tunnel a lot too, but found at the center still has less turbulent than two sides, may consider add a nano Tunze attach overflow wall at the bottom to create additional turbulent for the center part. What do you guys think?

True blue is just a matter of procuring a real blue on blue acro such as the OT etc, blue and green pigments are extremely easy pigments to hold in corals. 99% of the acros guys on here call yellow are nothing more than shades of green so finding an acro that is capable of producing that color pigment might present more of a challenge.
I can see how that hollow would easily develop dead spots in regards to water flow and adding a pump to force current through there makes a lot of sense imo. I like your idea for the new additional LED spot lights and will be interested to see how you implement them Shih :)

Well.. The way I look at it, your #3 should be your #1 concern and if the wife won't be happy, you won't be happy!
Problem solved...
Don't get them.. :)

+1 One should know who the boss is. :headwally:

Unfortunately...Both of you are right about the priority.

Great build! I have read hundreds of builds on this forum, and I must say this is the best one in creativity and coral layout!!! Amazing!! I wish I lived in Asia everything seems to be cheaper there.

Hmmm about your Kessils I will be careful. Different brands/company of LEDs have different effect on coral coloration. I personally wouldn't mess with what you have now. If the growth is amazing and the corals are growing happy why mess with it? I am just afraid the addition of the Kessils will make your growth patterns different as you stated before, or even worse turn the colors of your corals to different colors to what you don't like at all, and we all experience its very hard to 'change' the colors back.

I for one know that LEDs change colors of Acans, but you don't have any so your main concern be the SPS's reactions.

The grow of tank center is good, but due to my ATI hybrid is only 56 cm wide, so both side have about 15 cm no strong light cover. My original idea is I won't add coral too close to two sides, which it make easy for tank glass clean up and hand access. However, I am too greedy of adding nice corals and some coral grow to both sides....:roll eyes:.... Maybe I should just listen to you to stop thinking adding more light...

I see, then I should never PO Tuna sun. Tuna Blue should be the one. I want some open box video for Kessil gooseneck and it do look like pretty thick and strong... Kessil is mfg in Taiwan, and I heard good feedback from customers. I am now asking my "friends" get Kessil first:thumbsup:, then I can judge when and how to add into my tank if plan keep going....

I found blue is easy to keep on a small frag, but usually when it grow to big colony then more purple or green come out. Anyway, I will see if I can keep it for long term. I have the same observation of yellow pigment like you.

Nano Tunze pump is now in my shopping cart, but I may wait till I decide to go with Kessil or not to place order. (Note: my friend in Taiwan think Kessil light is like a itch to me and they believe no matter what, I am going to order it.:p)

Nice growth. Can you share your recent sump photo?

I only have a full sump photo took at June 8th 2015 with me as below. I am now thousand miles away from home so the best I can get are some pictures took from IPCams. I don't see lots of differences compare to June 8th pictures, except I added ethernet cable and power core ready for later KHG (KH auto monitoring device) used.

Thats pretty awesome how you are monitoring the tank. I need an auto alk monitor/doser. :D

The item still in DIY process and it hard for consumer using.
Let us speed up the housing design works.
Joe you need to write the instrucatuon rough draft ASAP.

Me too... Can't wait to see KHG in running mode.
If Mindstream available, I would love to compare both.

MindStream MD is much cooler (if it really work).
You need to work harder, Elton!

When you get lab V.3 you can give us your idea for the outer shape (housing).

However it still needs to wait the latest lab version complete.

Hi Shih, I made a video of the magnetic stirrer. Its an awesome little creation.
Many thanks my friend. I use it to do my alk test VERY quickly every few days.

Awesome! Where can I get one?

This was made by Shih's friend using a 3D printer. I am very lucky to have been gifted with one.

Sahin,
Love the stirrer. Are you using the smallest stirrer bar available? What is the bar dimension?

I'm using the smallest one which is around 9mm long. I was given different length magnets. I havent tried the longer versions, but this one works just fine.

I love this little gadget. Makes testing fun. :lolspin:

I used to use lab grade versions at university so when I was gifted with this I was quite happy. :)

Awesome Tank!

The corals are beautiful and "paraphernalia" technology makes me very happy.

Congratulations, it is beautiful your system.

26 bucks.

Wow!!! Sahin, thank you for sharing the video.
Salifert should really see this kind of products fly in free market and considering fill their product family gap with an official one ;)

Thanks. Got some new toys back in July, but still no time to even open the box. I hope I have two to three decent weeks stay in Taiwan so I can set them up.

Royal Exclusiv RD3 Speedy 80W (One for Elton and one for myself). I plan to use it to swap my old Royal Exclusiv 6500 to perfectly pair up existing RD3 80W.

Schego Titanium 600W Heater and some little gadget. Can't get anything over 300W in Taiwan LFS, don't know why.:(
