Campbell's 120x36x30 In-Wall FOWLR

Can you show us how you covered your tank?
I had a wrasse for about 6 months then he jumped, and I'm not getting any more until I get a cover...

Do you have problems with nitrate, if so what do you do to lower them? I hate to bother you but if you can add some new pics of one of my favorite tanks on reefcentral that would be awesome. Thanks

Been a while so I thought I would post a video with my new LEDs. Let me know what you think.

Wow those LED's are BLUE!

Looks great though, and Im glad to see all the fish are still doing well. So...What do you have in QT right now?

Updates on the blotched trio?

Super blue...but I bet it isn't as bad in person...my camera makes my LEDs look that blue too.

Thanks Ryan! Yeah this is just 1 strip of 60" blue LEDs. I am going to get 1-2 more. The color in person is just crazy.

In QT I have a pair of tinkers (1 true 4" Hawaiian and my 2.5" hybrid) I also have a 3" chevron getting ready for the reef. My 2.5" achillies is doing well in the reef with my Picasso and snowflake clown pair.

I will be putting the pair of goldflakes in the DT in the next month or 2. They have put on some great weight and eat like pigs.

D5HP - the blotchy anthias came into the vendor at around 5" and I didn't want anything over 3". I am waiting on them and will get them once they are in season this summer.

As for the blue, you are correct my iPhone makes it look much bluer than in person, but the LEDs still have a crazy 4D effect.
It looks very ... um ... blue. Nice collection of fish you have.

Dave - blue indeed...the LED looks spectacular with my T5 combination.

Thanks for the complements

Looking good, Chris! Which LED strip did you get? I am thinking of replacing my T5 and/or VHO supplement to cut down on electricity and heat.

Sick! I can't wait to see the tinker pair. Im so jealous. How is the lenardi?

I will post soon of them...it is very similar to when I had the pair of wrought irons...the contrast between the 2 is awesome.

The lenardi was sold a while back...it was a great fish, but the $ was too good to pass up.

Thanks Kenny! The strip is a Sunbrite 60" strip. Minimal, but very powerful...I want to get more

I wonder how the Sunbrites and Reefbrites compare. I've been considering the Reefbrites but they seem to be constantly out of stock and quite expensive. Where are the Sunbrites sold?

I like both of them. The Reefbrites are good, but the new Sunbrites are unreal...

the site is sunbritelighting . com

I met them when they were out for Reefstock and got some good stuff...you wont be dissapointed with the new light fixtures!

Hi Chris, how are you liking the XP8000 skimmer? I am in the market for a new skimmer and the XP8000 internal is on my list, or a BK Supermarine 300
Thoughts?

The XP8000 is far exceeding my expectations. It can wet skim 5g a day or do about 3G of thick black sludge every 72 hours.

The best thing about the skimmer is the fact that it cannot overflow. The mechanism of putting an air vent into the collection cup and when it overskims drains back into the body is genius.

The only skimmer I would have gotten over it was the BK400 or BK500, but could not justify paying 3x more

Hi Chris, I just hooked up my XP8000 internal and after 1 day of running it the air draw is only 50% of what it should be. (pulling 2400l/h) did you find yours was pulling the full advertised air draw of 5000l/h right away?

I can honestly say I have never checked how much air the skimmer pulls. How did you check yours? I know that the skimmer has been awesome since the very first day and I am very pleased with it.

Chris how do you deal with emperor angel stop eating?
This happen to me twice!
If they get intimidated they stop eating and develop ICK on the main tank.
So He back on my 150 gallon by himself and slowly starting to nips at food again
What else can I do?
Thanks

When I have fish that stop eating I don't change much. There are a couple reasons that they do this.

(1) they are sick and something is causing them not to eat. I would do a nice size water change, add some garlic to the food and get some nice fresh clam shredded up. I typically will pull the fish dose some furan or myracin.

(2) there is an internal parasite and needs to be treated. Prazi pro is my choice for this.

At the end of the day continue to entice the fish with food and if it heals it will eat.
