Nice Mystic Blue/Brown I held on to that piece for quite awhile before I could not take it anymore.
I'm starting to feel that way about my Palmers Blue/Brown. Dan, is that why you took yours out?

I hear ya Mark. I keep going back and forth on this piece but I think the growth structure is pretty cool looking. I keep expecting the blue to get deeper but if you couldn't do it then it can't be done :worried:
Exactly, I could never get it to look like the pictures that I've seen on the net. Eventually I gave up...funny thing is that it must have encrusted off of its base and it now growing back. Same coloring though![]()
Ryan, when I can remember I dose one ampule of Bioptim and Bio Digest on alternating weeks. I dose one ampule of Reef Booster every other week. The only other thing I dose is potassium, just a little bit every week. Again all of this is when I can remember, which is not oftenYa, the pictures I have seen of the Palmers are so vivid, I can't get mine to even come close. I may do the same pretty soon here. Too bad it is making a comeback in your tank with the same color. I have an orange digi I took out awhile ago making a comeback in a big way....and I wish it wouldn't.
Dan, if you don't mind me asking, what is your dosing regimen for Bioptim and BioDigest, how many ampules and how often? Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Hey Ramzy. They are all doing great. The rhomboids are all getting along well with each other and the other fish and same with the flames. As you know I've made several attempts with rhomboids and flames. I've found the flames to be much more hardy than the rhomboids. The only advice I could give you would be to QT them, prazi and get them fat before you add them to your display. BTW I saw a pair for sale on the So Cal board. I currently have 11 wrasses in the my tank.
Thanks for the reply Dan! Hope you had a great Christmas. Good to hear that the Rhomboids are doing good for you. I put some 1/4"x1/4" netting over my tank recently and captured my 6 line, its gotten me encouraged to start adding some jumpersDo you feel the flame wrasse is worth the high price? Id love a pair of red wrasses but im wondering if a pair of flashers instead (which is also much cheaper) would be a better buy. Let me know your opinion, thanks!
Thanks Ramzy, we had a great Christmas...nothing like seeing the looks on the kid's faces on Xmas morning. Hope you, Kat and your families had a great one too. The 1/4" netting is absolutely key and getting the 6 line out is also important but you already know that. I love my flames, especially when the male displays...the colors become so intense it's amazing. Don't get me wrong, the flashers are nice too and I'll probably add a few more species down the road but I think the flames awesome. If I could only pick one wrasse...I'd pick the flame. I recently added two female C. bathyphilus, hopefully one turns into a female and maybe I'll have a new favorite...but for now it's the flame.
Yeah, no problem Ramzy but I won't be headed to the fish store for a while....changes coming soon :worried: BTW great choice in the Potter's wrasse, I love those guys. One of my favorite fish, had one for a while but it disappeared about 4 months ago and I haven't been able to locate a replacement. Thanks Dan. I'll for sure add a pair of flames on the list of fish to get along with a radiant & potters wrasse. Right now for wrasses I've got only a yellow coris and red headed salon. It took 2 years but I finally caught the evil sixline, I simply had to remove every coral and rock out of the tank :lmao: Next time you go to the fish store let me know, we can all plan a trip again
Changes?
:uzi:
What, changes??? Are you driving to IL to buy my tank???

Still working out some details but I'll definitely need your guy's input when it's a go.You can't plan changes without sharing.
I would, but I don't do well in the snow :hammer:
That sounds like an upgrade![]()
