What's all this futball talk  Here's all I know about futball:

  • Don't use your hands.
  • Kick it in the net.
  • You run...a lot.
  •

What else is there?

Happy Friday and New Year everyone. :celeb1: Be careful out there tonight.

Well for one, its called Football or footy in the pubs. After that, you pick a club, draw your line in the sand, and all other clubs are sheit

There is the game itself, but that is for another day :D

Happy New Year Dan

Lets see some photo's of your fishies Dan!

Happy New year!

Thanks Ryan, I hope that you and your family will have a prosperous New Year. I'll see if I can snap a few this week and get them up. I need to get a better lens that I can use for the :fish2:

Yup, from Richard. It's looking nicer the more it grows.

Happy Friday and a happy new years to you and your family. When you going to bring the family to eat some food Dan?
Thanks Michael...funny I was just telling my wife that we really need to get to your restaurant. Definitely near the top of my long list of things I want to do, unfortunately the even longer list of things I have to do often trumps my want list

Well it looks like it is final and I will be tearing down the tank in the next few weeks :thumbdown

We have sold our house, all contingencies have cleared and unless the buyers back out we will be moving by the end of January. Long story short but we are looking ahead at the school options for our kids post elementary school (which we love) and have decided to bite the bullet after 10 years in our current house and move. What is ironic is I attended the junior high/high school that my kids would attend if we were to stay. (Not sure if that is a commentary on how much has changed or on my education but that is another OT story.) We have not found a new house yet and because it's in the middle of the school year, we will temporarily be moving into my mom's house within the same neighborhood. Hence the problem and where I need your guy's input. I need to figure out what to do with the livestock while we find a new home. My half baked plan is to get a large bin (already picked up from Stryker) and move the livestock. Then move the tank, reset it but keep it bare bottom. I would let the tank run for a couple of weeks and move the livestock back into the tank. I would guess it will take 3-4 months until we find a new home and then I would repeat the process. So what do you guys think? Should I skip resetting the tank and leave the livestock in the bin for the 3-4 months? Brian I know you just went through a move a while back. I would love to hear your dos, don'ts and watch outs as well as anyone else's tips.

WOW, that's NOT the upgrade we were all thinking of Dan ;)

Moving livestock is not fun and you get to do it a few times ... :(

The new house is still months away so I am sure Dan will try working his mojo every chance he gets :D

The Dan Clan out house hunting.........

Dan walks inside and immediately takes a quick tour of the downstairs, then drags the kids over to the large living room. "Kids, don't you just love this room? It's spacious and bright. You guys would love watching TV and playing here. Oh, and look here. Wouldn't this be a great spot for the large tank we've been thinking about? What was the size we were talking about? Was it something like 400 or 500 gallons?" Dan steals a peek at his wife, who shakes her head, rolls her eyes, and walks away...............

Realtor asks Dan, "What is that large cardboard box for? We are only going to look at houses".

Dan's response, "oh this, is just a mock up so I can visualize where the new fish tank will go"

Dan's wife's response "I'll show you where the damn fish tank can go"

I'm sure you have already though of a lot Dan. Just make sure to have a lot of extra water, extra heaters, extra power heads and the such. If it was me, I'd try to move them as little as I can. We sometimes take for granted how fragile corals really are.

Good luck and we'll all get through this together :p

Yeah Sara really not looking forward to this and worried that I'm going to nuke my livestock.

You know me too well. Funny how when looking at the pictures on the internet that I look for where the tank would fit. When I see a wet bar I think about how I could rip that out and have an in wall with drainage and water already there :fun5:

Dan, let me know if you need any extra help with moving the tank or livestock.
Thanks for the offer Ryan...I might hit you up.

Cardboard box the size of the tank (maybe bigger?). Now that's an idea I can use! [thinks it through for a second] Hey are you trying to get me divorced?

I hear ya Mark, I'm leaning on leaving them in the bin until I find a final spot in the new house. It's just that I won't be able to enjoy them (except from the top down) for a while...very selfish of me. Leaving them in the bin probably gives them the best chance of survival.
