How not to build a 750/1500 gallon build thread-Khaosinc 3/5/71-8/30/11

Why don't you keep turtles in the main tank? They would be happy.

I'm sure anyone who has had an acrylic tank knows the joys of scratches....

now take a look at the claws on a turtle..

If I can't sell it, I might look at that idea, but the tank would end up destroyed.

And I could really use the space and the money.

Not like I could find someone to take this thing... Can't even give it away[/QUOTE]
So sad to see you had to take the tank down. Best wishes to you. If I lived closer I would take the setup off your hands. It would fill my living room but thats fine with me.

You're right, didn't think about it, acrylic tanks are not so popular here in Europe. Anyway, take care and good luck!

I also have enjoyed your thread and will be sad to no longer hear your thoughts about anything tank related or just your random thoughts. I hope you still post to let us know how you and Tink are doing. I would say your story has touched all of our hearts. I know it has made me laugh, cry and smile. Best Wishes to you both.

I'll still wander in every so often... Someday I might even be back, but not any time soon.

And the tank weighs about 1000 pounds... empty,.

whew -nice ride-Bummer checking that empty tank out, I've been there in a much smaller scale-good luck to ya-Ya got a keeper in Tink! You kept alot of us entertained for awhile.

Thanks!

Have you ever considered wind power. I am back after a yellow tang kicked me off for no reason. I will post the build I originally started last january with the 200gal in the wall. It turned out great. I have half my system running on solar, getting ready to install solar domes for my lights. I have Led lights I am getting ready to install as well

It's not just the electric bill, but the fact that I can't physically do any of the work either.

It's all down now anyway

It's listed in the for sale section currently... should be easy enough to find

The end of an era

You will be sadly missed

Good luck to you and your good lady

And for the last post on this thread from me. Suppose I'll be good and not post pics of the tank in pieces...

Got the first electric bill with no fish tank in the house for the first time sine I bought this place 13 years ago...

$49.78

Even in a cheap power state, that tank was taking an average of $300 in Electric bills alone. My average per day usage just dropped from 73.7 KWH to 19.7 KWH and that includes the fact that I've been using electric heat to make up for the lack of a fish tank
