Here we go...

Hey all! I've been in the hobby for the past 5 years or so and am finally settled in one spot so I can start a reef again. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions along the way and appreciate any and all assistance (just be nice...I'm a noob!). I have a few pics posted of my current 30 gallon set up. It's about 7 months old and just got it's first fish 2 days ago. Let me know what you think! :)

Hey guys Jeremy here. I've had freshwater tanks for 7-8 years now and would like to foray into the salty side! Looks like I have plenty of new friends to help:rollface:

Sir my name is Jeremy. Please change your name :-P welcome to the site buddy!

I have had many freshwater tanks over 20 years and best tanks were Malawi Africans, but due to being in the military we have to move every 3 years, so marine was not worth the effort. Now I have decided to retire from the Navy and don't plan to move soon:) I bought a used 90gal tank with many nice corals, and a nice variety of fish. The tank has been up and running for 1month and today I "personalized" it. I got rid of the 3 large (too big) main fish-Harlequin Tusk, Niger Trigger and Sailfin Tang and got some smaller fish. I have already been bitten by the bug and am looking forward to reading posts on how to improve my tanks ease of operation.
sorry for being long winded:)

Hello everyone . Glad to be back. Trying to decide if I should start a bio cube or a 30 gallon tank. Have trouble with big water changes due to health reasons.

Hi everyone,

My name is Ted, I'm from the UK, new to the hobby and I'm in the process of cycling a 136 litre tank with live rock. I thought I'd join the forum here because it's never a bad idea to get advice from people who have trodden these paths before.

Looking forward to meeting people and talking about all things salty!

Hello to everyone. I've been reading threads on Reef Central for about a year and a half to help me through my first salt water tank. I guess it's about time I join. I currently have a 60 gallon Display tank with a 30 gallon sump. About 6 months ago, I started introducing some corals to my tank and am now looking to upgrade to a 150. I'm sure I'll have many questions as I make the change.

Hi Reefer's I'm Lyn. Been keeping fresh water & tropical forever. Been into salt for approx. two years. Went over board with the interest, cost me a packet and learning curve. Now down sizing to Nano 70ltr tank as I can't part with the beauty of these tanks.

Hello !!!

Hello !!!

Great to see there is a website as useful and informational as this, which is why I joined it.

I am fairly new to the SW hobby and I definetly want to learn ALOT if not all i need to know about this hobby as I plan to have bigger tanks once I get the hang of it.

Tank: 24g Current USA biocube
Livestock: 1 Madagascar Clown (2")
Clean Up Crew : Nassarius snail, Cerith snail, Hermit crabs, Peppermint shrimp, Cleaner shrimp
Coral: 1 large GSP colony, 3 Zoa frags, 1 Green candy cane, 2 mushrooms
Equipment: 2 Hydor koralia 425's, Marineland 3 in 1 pump, Heater, Marineland 18-24 LEDs,

I also have a 6g Nanocube that I plan to use strictly for frags and refugium.

Nice to meet you all and hope to meet other locals in Socal.

my little reef

my little reef

Hey everyone, i am new to this reef central thing so i thought i would say hi. I have an up and running four gallon with a 2 gallon refugium. i have been running a basic carbon and sponge filter as well. i have two true lumen 12" led over the DT, one is 12k and one is deep blue. i have the corallife pc sitting over my fuge with some cheato in it.

temp 81
ph 81-83
alk 9.5
calc 480
nitrate 0

I have been running for about a month in a half now and it is finding its flow. i have some polyps that are recovering from a nudibranch infestation and a blue monti who lost a bit of its color and had a some STN. I am watching it now and hoping it gets better! i also have one clown, the blue legs, a conch, and an astreal snail.
I do water changes once a week and none of my levels swing too much at all since i finished cycling. I am hoping for some coralline soon and plan to invest in some more corals and possibly a small clam! anyone have any advice? questions? or concerns?

New to RC and just started receiving all the items I need to get my reefing hobby underway!

I decided to go AIO since I like the look of them. I just set up my stand for my new Nuvo Fusion 30L, and I have some dry rock and sand waiting for the tank to arrive to start putting them in.

My RO/DI system comes in tomorrow, as well as test kits and all that jazz. Can't wait to get started

Newbie to marine

Newbie to marine

Hi all, We've been doing tropical tanks for many years now and thought it was about time to start with a marine tank. we have a cracking 8x2x2 ft tank which is just crying out to be used for a full reef set up. All i need is advice from the experts in how to go about it, I've been reading up on the subject but I find that its always best to hear from the folks who have been there and done it.

We've been using 2 FX5's for the big tank and 1 FX5 for the smaller one, I've been reading up that the FX5 isn't really suitable so will have to change those out for a refugium etc etc.

We've also got a 3x3x1.5 ft (3ft high)which we want to get set up for marine too, any and all advice will be appreciated!!

New to RC from RI. Running a 60 gallon rimless cube that was just upgraded from a 45 non RR. Was done as an emergency upgrade to not using the overflow till I get my sump all figured out. Running my HOB skimmer and 5 gallon WC every 4-5 days till the sump is in.

Hello. Name is Jason. I have 2 tanks. One is fresh and the other is salt. The salt is 39 gallons but I am currently polishing up a 135 gallon acrylic. Hope for it to be up and running in a month or two.

New to the forum , in the process of starting another 40 breeder, and thinking of posting the build , I was checking out the site here last night and came across some very very nice 40's, Look forward to some pics and info soon as I am still in the beginning stages of the set up.
