local tropical reports

The only likely place for a lionfish or any other tropical fish species to survive a winter here would be in a power plant outflow.

Been getting a few tropicals for a while now. Yesterday i caught a first for me though. A baby around 4" mati mati. I am considering donating it to Atlantis. Idk if they would be interested in it though. Here r some quick shot's in the qt before i turned off the lights.

The Fish Finder,

Where did you catch him and how?

My son and I watched some guy diving with Sailfish on a night dive and what he found was baby sailfish about the same size as your Mahi Mahi, they were awesome!!

Sailfish film

Thanks,
Walter

Justin,

AH! I was going to the other end of the island looking when I should have gone to my old faithful spot!

How does Sunday look for you? I didn't get my pass this year but I could probably grab my brothers truck or meet you at OBI parking lot. If you can go I will figure it out, LMK.

Thanks,
Walter

maybe we will see. Got a lot going on this weekend. U have my number just give me a call :)

Todd at atlantis told me how they had a baby mahi mahi one year. it didn't last long. He said that it required huge amounts of constant feeding.

That makes sense, after all its one of the fastest growing fish in the world.

Justin,

Hows he doing? What does he eat?

saw a couple club members at the bridge today. besides them, I saw many spotfin butterflies, 1 four-eye butterfly, 11 snowy grouper, and 1 boston bean boxfish. I only bothered taking home the boxfish.
