Before you ship out the lights when the first 6 return you should do a side by side comparison of the tank to really get a feel for the difference, not just intensity but color rendition as well.

You'll like the Gen3 upgrade. I upgraded all my Gen 1's to Gen 3's earlier this year. I know you're going with the Pro's, but I went with just the Gen 3's.

There is really not much differencebetween the two

I was talking about not much difference between gen3 and gen3 pros. The up grade is a pretty good deal.
