I was all set to buy 12 aqua illumination units… Then I went to macna. Now I think I want EcoTech Radion LED. I am still on the fence

Here is one reason alone that would make me want the Radion's....think about trying to adjust 12 AI units without them being wirelessly synced together. You would have to tweak each one independently or write code to have them controlled by some other controller together.
The Radion's are supposed to be capable of being controlled from one unit and all of the rest following. This would make it far easier to make changes, or to test things etc.

I'm going to have to agree with Luke on this one David. It sure would be nice to have control wirelessly and also have the self sync. Let's just hope Eco Tec did their homework on these

I have 6 AI's & so do many others here. There is already a power wire so the daisy chain is not really a problem for me. AI's are a proven good system. I know nothing about the Ecotech's & I am sure with the companies reputation they will be a good product, but you cannot dismiss AI because they have a great track record.

There will always be a better product coming out next year & you can only wait so long to get what you want.

IMHO the reduced price Ai modules are a great buy.

I have no experience with LEDs and have always used MH and T5. However as the LED technology develops they are looking much more attractive. The heat and energy factor alone makes it a no brainier. :wildone:

Personally I will wait a while (1 to 2 years) to jump on the LED wagon.;)

The problem with David & I is that we have a new tank & new to buy lighting. It only makes sense to go LED. The question is, which one.

I hate being a guinni pig for anything. AI' tried & proven.

Is it really being a guinea pig if you buy the first LED fixture a company comes out with, if the company has already proven they know how to build intelligent controllers, proper cooling (of motors), and stylish designs?
And...all they did with the LED's themselves is take what was already shown to work (RB and White), and add to it.

The first model of anything is a Guinea pig IMHO.

First year model cars always have problems, yet they built cars for yrs.

Maxispect first model, people seem to not be as impressed with them as they thought they would. All this is my opinion.

My Apex was an early model & they built controllers for yrs., yet there were many revisions.

I'm just stating what I am doing, Ecotec is a great company & I am sure will have a great light. If I wait a year or 2 there will probably be 3 or 4 more players in the market.
