New AquaController 3/3 Pro Firmware

OK I took the plunge! So far so good. Updated without any issues.

For Vista/Windows 7 users:

1. Make sure you run ac3loader.exe as Admin. You can do so by right clicking on the exe file and selecting "Run as Administrator". Then click on YES to authorize access thru the firewall to the application.

2. Make sure you are in the "Firmware/Web Update" tab. (Ignore the "DHCP Setup" tab)

3. Type in your info in the fields (IP address of the AC, username, password and HTTP port).

4. Click on the "Upgrade Firmware" first. Takes about 15 seconds (in my case it didn't notify that the Upgrade was done, it only said something about the ./aqua.bin file --- sorry don't remember exactly --, so after a minute waiting I moved on to the next botton).

5. Click the "Upgrade Web Pages" button. After loading a bunch of files it displays a "UPGRADE COMPLETED" message.

You are done.

The iPhone app (ver 2.1) works great too.

Just updated to this release and it went flawlessly. Easiest upgrade yet. So far my controller is working great and things look good. We will see what happens over the next couple days!

Don

The controller responds much faster through IE and the graphs don't error out when there is no data. That appears to be fixed by making the controller create an instant datalog entry.

Much faster response times though, I mean much, much faster.

Doesn't work so great on a MAC.....On Vista/Windows 7 it works great. I tried it using "Parallels" and Windows 7 (on the MAC and a PC) and everything is fine.
Problem with the MAC and Safari is that it will not load one of the pages.

First time I have run across this in all of the Beta Builds.

Yeah, but who uses a Mac or Safari?????? Oh, wait, all those folks who recognize better performance when they see it! Oh, well, back to work on my PC :(

Installation was perfect with no problems.
AquaNotes for iPhone also works perfect with this firmware.
I'll let you know if there's any problem after this.

Curt;

after making about 50% through update, lost connection, and now my AC III has gone dumb. I have sent details to you via email.

thanks for help. Fred Gregory

well after tracking down all those pesky DHCP's i was able to flash it... wow..little more difficult than I expected.

**just to be fair though, my setup is a bit unusual, using a Mac, and Virtual PC, connected via an Airport Express.

For that type of setup sometimes is worth asking a buddy for a Windows based Laptop and connect directly to the ACIII with a crossover CAT5 cable. :)
Glad you figured it out. Maybe you could post a How-To for that specific setup. That way Curt can add it to the final version of the Readme.txt file.

latest firmware problem?

latest firmware problem?

I installed the latest firmware update, and today, one day later, my lights did not come on. The timer controlling my main lights was listed as being off, despite my program calling for it to be on.

I re-cycled the power and it started working, so we will see how it goes. I probably should have re-cycled the power after the firmware update.

Which page fails in Safari BillyBee?

Title page frame does not display correctly on Safari or Firefox on the Mac. Looks fine on a Windows system.

Did the update tonight and it was totally painless. iPhone app working again! :D

Almost 3 days of consecutive use and no problems. I have edited the program on the ACIII, both through the web and through the iPhone app. I have turn on and off devices, and I have cycled through all the charts.
It has not failed. Both the website and the iPhone app load way faster. I am very happy reefer so far!! :) Good job Neptune!

It must be a browser version thing. Everything works fine on my work Mac. So must be something on my home Mac.

Second day in and all looks great!

I had an odd issue with the title frame as well in Vista/Firefox. Occasionally it won't load, but a forced refresh will load it again.

No other issues at this point.
