Hmm never had a soli and they aren't commen in these parts. So I still like it.

I don't think I'd go so far as to call it a turd, A. Solitaryensis are neat looking corals when they get big, they're just not usually colorful, though I have seen a few colored up nice and green with a purple rim.

They grow their corals in the sun so this could very possibly color up from brown to green in a captive aquarium under 14/20k and I have to commend ORA for their efforts to aquaculture corals.

Could it be that more reefers are just getting better at keeping their SPS alive and happy, so many of the really beautiful maricultured and even wild colonies are doing just fine? The need for an extra hardy (and IME they are EXTRA hardy) ORA coral is less necessary? So we are now comparing these ORA corals to many of the maricultured and wild specimens, like the, IMO, very hardy aussie echinatas...

Just a thought.

I'm just saying at that angle in that pic it looks like a doggie doo doo. I'm sure at a different angle it looks like a nice brown and purple coral. I'm pretty sure it'll color up, if not then I don't really care for it. I'd still buy it at a decent price though

Anyone know why ORA doesn't ever release pictures of the mother colony(colonies)? I think that'd be a good way to show people what these will look like after several years in your system!

Maybe they are out there, but I've never seen one.

I agree seeing a colony helps but flow and light have so much to do with formation and color it is only minimally helpful.
