New Reef Octupus Skimmer Thread (Pacific Coast Imports)

1/4 gallon a day? I get about that much a week (about 1/2 cup a day).

I am considering switching out my regular water feed pump with a needlewheel pump (tonyf gave me the idea). Since I need a feed pump anyway, why not use the opportunity to add a little extra air. The only question is which one (OR1700, Gen-X 1000, Gen-X 2400, or Sedra 2500).
 
Custom Aquatic, Reef tank supply. There is another place too, but I can't remember exactly what it was called, it started with an A, like Aramake or something like that.
 
Well I went on reeftanksupply and tried to order the rps-1000, and for some reason when you try to order and put in your payment method, it doesn't show any options? I tried calling and no one picked up so I left a message, no call back.
 
I got mine at custom aquatic. They will price match reeftanks prices, and IMO they have better customer service, and faster to ship out as they keep them in stock. From what I read reeftank sometimes has to drop ship.
 
Got mine at reeftanksupply, they might be backordered. Apparently these skimmers are selling like hot cakes. Go Figure!
 
Bummer about reeftanksupply. I guess we need to find another source for a good price. I like Custom Aquatic, but it rather ticks me off that they massively overprice the skimmers ($489 for the 3000) but are willing to price match the lower prices ($399). Shop around or get screwed, I guess.
 
see I knew we shouldn't be using Internet Explorer.

another one bites the dust like Aqualux. I keep showing up two weeks too late for this hobby.
 
What I am going to do to prevent overflowing is connect my airline to the collection cup, somewhere near the top. This is a feature on the Lifereef skimmers. When the cup fills up it starts to draw water into the pump(venturi) and can't create any more bubbles.

I was just going to order a 3000 and see how it works compared to the 2000 that I am running now, oh we'll this was a good company,(reeftanksupply) some body buy this place , the owners want to sell!!!

Interesting... I might have been interested had they been based in the Seattle WA area.

I have an inquiry in with them about purchasing the company. We will have to wait and see. :p
 
If I had knew that they wanted to sell, I would have checked it out last weekend, I was in Overland Park to pick up a Chrysler 300c, and could have met up to check out the entire operation.

Now people are going to have to pay the inflated price at CA. I guess I won't be buying the RPS 1000 after all.
