NOW IN STOCK: AquaMaxx ConeS CO-2 and CO-3 Protein Skimmers

I also put in an order for a CO-3, so I have been watching the latest developments. MD, thank you for the updates and keeping us informed with the inventory situation. Because of this I'm willing to wait it out until February. I'm disappointed, but I'm guessing the wait will be worth it.

We completely understand your disappointment. We'd be disappointed, too, if we were waiting for a kick @$$ new skimmer to come in and the delivery date were postponed.

Product delivery dates to us are in constant flux, so we're always a bit apprehensive when someone on the boards asks when we're going to get something because we're afraid that date could change, since it often does (especially for new/unreleased products!).

In any case, we always reply with the most accurate ETA we have the day you ask and if we hear of delays, we let you know that too so you can make other arrangements, if necessary. Sometimes hobbyists can't wait and we totally understand. We've been there, too.

At the end of the day, we just want you to be happy with our services! That way, even if you have to pick up an item elsewhere this time, we treated you with respect and honesty so you'll give us another shot next time you need gear or goodies for your tank.

Thank you so much for your patience and for choosing MD!

Is your new shipment in Feb. going to be able to handle all of the pre orders that you have in so far?

Which model? I'd be happy to check that out for you.

I tried to look earlier in the thread for a sign so I didn't have to ask. I haven't had my AM caffeine fix yet though so maybe I missed it...

Thanks the CO 1 skimmer.

I replied a moment ago stating only 20% of the skimmers we have in our next order are reserved, which is actually false... so I'm editing with an update: in fact, 75% of the CO-1's we have coming in the next shipment are accounted for. Hope that helps!

MD: Skimmer advice

MD: Skimmer advice

Hi MD

Currently building a 75G mixed reef, planning on a heavily stocked tank with lots of fish, sps, lps...etc, thats the goal anyway as free money comes :)

But looking for your opinion, 75G DT, 40G Sump, 40G Refugium, looking at the Aquamaxx line, specifically the ConeS and EM series...What would you suggest. Have no baffles set, or laid out the sump design yet as I want to design around the equipment I get, and want something that will be able to stick around if my wife allows me to grow to a larger tank in future.

Any advice would be great, thanks in advance.

Happy Monday, nofear31! The ConeS and EM series skimmers are very similar and excellent choices. If you plan to upgrade in the future, the EM200 would probably be your best bet as it has a large body that will easily handle a heavily loaded reef up to about 150 gallons.

Shipping to Canada?

Shipping to Canada?

Thanks MD
Pretty easy to ship up to Canada, or is there a Canadian supplier you would suggest?

Shipping to Canada is more affordable than shipping overseas, that's for sure. I couldn't get a straight-up quote on this item for you since it's out of stock, but ballpark would be around $35. I am waiting to hear back from a couple of other staffers about AquaMaxx availability within your borders; I'll follow up once I hear back.

UPDATE: I am told GoReef.com and ReefSupplies.ca carry AquaMaxx products.

8"-10" is recommended. If the aquarium is 200-gallons, you will want the EM200 or EM300. The larger ones would be too much of an overkill.

I really wish they would list if something is backorderd on their website. I ordered the Aquamaxx co1 and got an email this morning that its backordered. Oh and because it did not say on their site i sold mine. So now i am in a pickle. Buy another one or go skimmerless until they are out of backorder. Fix your site Marinedepot, show what is and is not in stock.

What water height do they recommend for the Cones -3?

Also, how many GPH are these skimmers rated to handle? Not flow rate, but how much are they rated to effectively process?

Sorry for the confusion here, we do our best to accurately list the stock status on the product listing pages as linked below.

AquaMaxx ConeS CO-1

As fast as these AquaMaxx skimmers move for us, it may be possible you caught us before the site could update accurately and we do send our apologies if this was the case. Feel free to give our customer service a call if you need to choose an alternate and we can help make this right for you.
