I'm running an old Vertex IN series skimmer now and it skims like crazy. My problem is that I want the latest and greatest too. I might be nuts replacing my current skimmer because it's doing such a great job.
This skimmer appeared to be the latest and greatest at the begining of this thread and it really peaked my interest. But after reading the problems with some of them it worries me buying one. I read all about the ATB 840 V2 and couldn't find one single mention of a problem with it.
I don't really want to spend the money on a headache. I'm really torn because I like the design of this skimmer with the dc pump.
What to do.... what to do....
Will people please start posting good stuff about this skimmer! Help me decide.
Silly. If it isn't broke why fix it? If you insist I will sell you my skimmer for $450 shipped. If not for the chugging it would be perfect skimmer. The DC1 is starting to show some magic but the chugging is equal to a butterface.
I think the problem is with its size. The DC2 does not seem to have the same problems as the DC1. This is due to DC2 being larger yet sharing the same pump.
With out the skimmer running on my tank is so quiet. Including my return pump (DC6000), dual mp10's while both can add a small motor whine its nothing compared to this coal locomotive.
It's a diff pump crimson. FYI. The 2 & the 3 share pumps.
See, this is what I will be replacing. I'm nuts.

A proper response, would be to painlessly send a new one and have the old then returned with credit card as security.
Something has changed at Coralvue/RO. Their customer service used to be second to none.
I'll be certain to let everyone know everything that is going on! I'm still a little paranoid about my guaranteed refund as I've already ordered a replacement skimmer. Really hope the refund goes through with no problems.
Lets not jump the gun. They are at least trying to settle the matter with seiryoku. Let's see how they finish handling with seiryoku case and then mine.

If you had experience with them in the past, you would not be asking "Lets not jump the gun". In the past, issues were resolved in a few days for small parts, a week or two with major issues. Customer service was their saving grace.

You said "use to be" that is why I said lets not jump the gun. You implied something has changed at coralvue/RO and I already said that they will have the chance to work on the issue. But as another member stated they have been working with coralvue for three months without a fix.
