Curious to see the proportions of different substrates in use now that the BB "fad" may have tempered a bit - or at least can't really be considered a fad anymore. Folks have had time to try it and stick with it or go back to something else.

So, what you got?

I put starboard but it is no name HDPE from Menards. $12 for 4' by 8'. Whole lot cheaper than starboard!

Looks like I'm the only "faux" so far. (whoops, not anymore ;)) Not really suprising, since once I get the ambition, I'm going to yank it and go "baby style" as well. I haven't found it to be the happy medium I was expecting between the aesthetics of sand and the functionality of BB. Mainly because it's seemed to lack in the functionality dept as time has gone on. I have too much detritus adding up for my taste...and I know it could be much better.

Maybe I should experiment with some bottom-level water movement before I take a few years off my life by dismantling the tank and putting it back together in the same day...

Still pretty even representation - kind of curious what the "others" are.

I put starboard in my 15, but not in my 50. I cut the edges of the starboard to a 45 deg angle on somebody's advice (can't remember who) and I now wish I had done it on my other tank too.
