Here are two shots. The bulb does have a pink tint to it at least to my eyes.

Saw your thread on that Millie which got me looking for info on this bulb.

I am running the M59 ballast, will this bulb do all right with this ballast?

I have a cube and no room for actinic supplementation

So far, my favorite bulb I've ever tried.

Here's what I've run at different points: Ushio 10kk, Ushio 20kk, Radium 20kk, XM 10kk, XM 20kk, EVC 14kk. All these bulbs were use for extended time periods.

Ushio 10kk best growth with decent color.
Radium probably best color, but growth sucked.
XM, bad quality, good growth, decent color (without attinics)

Coralvue Reeflux 10kk 400w SE on HQI ballast is hands down the best IMO.

same boat- 3 lumenarcs -400 xm 20k
-m59's at this point, is an electronic ballast
a must for these bulbs?

My 4x400 ReefLux 10K's are burned in on Bluelines and I like them. I see a slight pink tinge, along with a slight hint of Fluorescence so no actinics on here for now.....we shall see.

No actinics running now and looks very good.

I still don't think you can add exactly the actinic affect with any MH. I think all tanks look better with them no matter what bulb for MH is being used.

But these look pretty damn nice without them!

Mine are on the "HQI" type ballast in LumenArcIII reflectors.

I tried it on a M59 (PFO) with no problems, but I like the HQI better, have not tried it on either one of my Eballasts ( Ice Cap, Blueline) I use the LumenArcIII reflectors for the SE bulbs.

If I go this way on the new tank I might try it with some T5 actinic.

Wow,

Looks good! :smokin:

I think i'm going to try the reeflux, only it will be a 250w on a EVC ballast.

hehe I just realized I purchased the regular 10k coralvue bulbs and have been burning it in for a week or 1.5 weeks...Guess its time to pull out the good ol credit card again. At least I have a backup now I guess.

the regular one is too yellow in my opion so hopefully the 175 10k reeflux will bring back some of the blues(used to use a 175 20k XM) but with that said I have seen noticeable change growth versus the old XM...everything has grown and a coral that I thought was goner (less then .5 cm^2 of skin left) is now coming back unbelievably fast and it has been sitting with this .5 cm^2 of skin for like 4 months under the 20k xms.

palmer...looking good. Have any full tank pics?

I have also tried all sorts of bulbs and IMO this bulb is pretty nice. The only thing is that pink corals are still purpleish. Not like when I was running 10K XM's, but all other colors are sweet...and the blues are really standing out.

I know...I wish it did. But for the most part the bulb is very white with a blue tint, but there is a slight pink hugh produced by the bulb. It is not very noticable, but its there.

I love it when i am involved in the same thread as you. I need to find an avatar like that. :)

My guess is the other colors in the bulb overpower the pink hue?

I really notice the pink hue when looking at the tank from the side. It really makes the coralline stand out on the back of the tank.
