If You Are New to Reef Central, Introduce Yourself Here!

Not really. When RC first started threads could be many pages long. It was only when the database started to become to cumbersome that the dread thread splitter came about. I alway hated it as in threads like my old, "New Tank Thread", is isolated the bulk of the information from the follow up comments. Heck there are some threads out there, like the "T-5 Q&A", that have been split so often that it takes forever to find the original post.

I do have one thing that will never happen again on Reef Central. I’m the only person to get “16,000” posts twice in less than a week. I did it on the old board last Friday but all post made then and until last Saturday evening were only counted on the old board, not the new one.

I just typed and pasted this from Word as I am also interested to see how this board handles “curly quotes”. On the old board they ended up as Chinese characters when the posts were saved during the nightly database save. In case you were wondering why some old posts look kind of strange. :lol2:

Here's an example for the old New Tank Thread---Whatâ₉„¢s a person to do????

I went back on many of my old posts and edited out the garbage but I missed some and I can't edit archived threads

Someone needs a life besides fish advice. :fun5:

I know there must be more to life in Ohio besides fish.
Go out to dinner, have some nice raw oysters... Oh no, then you will talk about it on the clam forum :D

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

i tryed going to the first page of the thread to the the evolution of the opinion on t-5s, and after about a half hour and never getting there i decided it wasnt that important

Eyesinthedrk, and you would be correct.

It doesn't matter if you use T5s, VHO, actinic candles or the glow from my bald head. All that matters is lumens and K ratings, and we are not even too sure about that. The sun puts out the entire spectrum but we try to get away with a small portion of it. Many configurations work so no one really can tell you for sure what type of lighting is best. I guess T5s are good because they are smaller. Of course the sun would be better.

I don't know, I am not myself today. Ask Waterkeeper.

HEY KEEPER OF WATER, where is the information that Eyesinthedrk is looking for?

Hey is Reef Central giving away free gifts or something?
It seems like a lot of new people are joining.
I know it's not because of my good looks or Waterkeepers retired anylitical chemistry background or the Capn's willingness to spend a lot of time here or that very cool Welcome thing :bounce2:

Greetings and a big Thank You to All at Reef Central!

I recently started my adventure into the Reef. The Archives and Forums are fantastic! Looking forward to growing the Primordial Reef..Step by Step or should I say ..Water Change by Water by Water Change.
