Mixed 500 gal. A.G.E. build. 12 unit LED Radion lights.

it will take less time then cleaning bags. Plus the bags will smell as they dirty.
With my 2 sumps I won't have to worry about micro bubbles.

David - I've seen postings from folks who feel the radions aren't bright enough, especially compared to MH. Have you noticed that at all?

This guy was a 1" frag when I put him under Radions

Just an update
My old tanks were a 220 mostly softies, and a 125 that was SPS dominated. The lighting was Coralife 150 plus atinics fixtures.
The picture is of my 125 just before I took it down to make room for the 500 gallon. The reason I attached the old picture is so you can see how most of the SPS looked before Radions.
Not all corals are in current tank.

I added corals to the 500 around the end of December 2011. I had great color and growth under Radions. In June 2012 I had to take the tank down to have the front and left side glass panels replaced.
FTS of tank the day I took it down early June 2012

Also, the glass had visual defects. All fish and coral lived in a 300 gallon Rubbermaid tub for 3 months in my garage, which was not the best situation.

Mid-September 2012 the tank was back up with corals .
FTS today

Your latest FTS is much less blue than the one from June. Did you do something different with the lights?

Beautiful tank, BTW.

Dave,
great tank. currently working on my 230 (Ohio 230 in large reef tank forum) and I had a couple of questions.
1. Was wondering were you had the aluminum fixture made for the LEDs
2. Where did you find those wheel fixtures and tracks for the canopy
3. Been looking at those radons and was wondering how you think they would work for my 30 inch deep tank. Was worried the par might not be strong enough at the lower areas of the tank.

Thank you.
I went to local metal machine shop.
Farm store. They are barn door hangers.
I have a 27” deep tank. I am running Radions without the TIR upgrade lens. I have lights set at 85% and it is fine for my lps on the bottom.

Thank you David, I think you have sold me on the Radons. Looking at the new 2nd gen. Will also benchmark your light track system. I love this forum and learn all kinds of great ideas.

The nice part about the light rack is i can raise them up for minor maintenance. I'll post a pic at end of week.
Did you see the other pic on other thread?

You have also sold me on radions. I am starting my big tank build , see 230 gallon into library on large reef forums. Ur posts have given me great ideas
