I got my bloom... I add a small clean up crew

can you go a little into detail about the internal overflow? are you happy with it? noise level?

so its 6"x17x6"? what size drains and returns are you using? how much flow are you draining(same as returning, but not sure what pump you are using).

i'm thinking about doing an 84x33x28" tank and i do not want to use dual overflows. and i can only do internal.

'Small Cleanup Crew' ehhh??? I don't even want to consider how much I'll spend on the CUC in total. My wife might cut me off at the CUC then I'll have LED lighting to watch the CUC climb around with no poop from the fish

It is very quiet I am using 2 returns an iwaki 100 and an iwaki 70. the 100 is also running my 33 gallon frag. the 70 is balled back a bit. I am pushing around 2000 gph Thur it.
2 1.5" drains and 2 1" returns

They are really going to town. They can give a large rock a hair cut in no time.

How bad a bloom did you get?

Any pics? Just wanted to see what type of algea & get your comments on which part of the clean up crew cleaned it. Good to know what real life experience is with crews.

It is a pretty big Bloom. I will go take some pics now. Some of the worse algea is gone all ready.

I am having the same thing. The astraea and turbos are working over time. I have even resorted to setting them in the big patches.

Lol...me to I had 2 large rocks that I piled a bunch of the burgers on.. The 2 rocks are clean as can be.
I put in 3 Tangs yesterday. A Cole, Orangeshoulder, and a Scopas tang.

Astrea snails are great but won't get turbos anymore....They sure clean well but topple any new frags I put in temporary positions...Might now have that prob now I have a 140 gallon frag tank Keep battling it David!

What type of filtration do you have going on behind this thing and how are you battling the algae? (I know this is part of the cycle really) Running GFO, Macros, Mangrove Garden, etc to help starve it out in DT?
