Yeah and I'm finally seeing what has been lacking almost the entire time my tank has been setup: growth. Of course certain pieces have been fine on that front, but across all acros? Unheard of. Better late than never, I very much feel entitled to this change and my tank better be done throwing curve balls at me. :p

Thanks Perry!

Thanks! I've been on vacation the past week and it's been killing me haha, can't wait to get back home. Hopefully things are running smooth! :)

man i know that feeling! this is why i´m going to buy an ip camera!! good for the little voice in my head always screaming :deadhorse1:

Cheers,
Flo

Just got home and saw that there's more algae growth than I would expect, I assume either 1) overfed fish by my cousin, he has FW tanks and is pretty responsible so it couldn't be much if so, 2) a fish or two died maybe, I don't know... I didn't have my skimmer on because before I left I had 0 nitrates and saw paling on a few pieces, perhaps it's just having the skimmer off for 8 days in a row too. I'll do more investigating into that tomorrow when the lights come on....

Also my Alkalinity dropped to 6.5dkh from 8dkh (over 8 days), apparently things took off in growth during my absence. I've upped my dosing to 65ml/day from 50ml, I guess for the next couple of months I'll need to test alk weekly/twice a week until I get better control over my consumption. It's weird having to test so frequently now, things have held steady for a long time and now it's like I can't keep up; I look away and the tank is asking for more. :fun5: It's great to see, I just wish I had a more stable tank during my absence haha.

Overall things look for the most part normal and ALIVE, but I need to see my wrasses when they wake up tomorrow. :p

Request granted guys!

I'm going on vacation soon so it's kind of scaring me to go away for so long, the longest I've left it is 3 days.

It's getting harder and harder to take photos of my acros, and depending on their location it really hasn't been possible to get great shots so forgive some of the pic quality I just can't afford a macro lens right now. :D

Josh, What is this coral?
I am happy to see your tank did so well without you.
looks like you are getting some good growth on that red planet and pink lemonade.

No name freebie from Adam @Battle Corals, I think Adam lost his colony but I'm not sure. He told me it was a stubby purple thing and never gave me a photo, but mine is going sky blue so that probably won't help him identify which piece it is of his. xD Thanks Matt.

Josh, go check out JBNY's new shots. there is one i would kill for and it looks similar to yours.. just beautiful

If that's what it is I will be blown away, what an amazing piece. If not, I still think it has a lot of potential, I never expected it to color how it is... haha.

Here's a photo timeline I did for you.

Josh, looks super clean and the rock work is beautiful. No worries, you will have those corals grow out and the tank will be full in short order.
Cheers!

Tank looks fantastic Josh :) good to see the issues are behind you :)

I don't think it'd be nearly as rewarding for me if I didn't have the hiccups that I did, I can look back at how bad things can get and just enjoy each success along the way knowing I pulled some of these acro frags back from near death. Thanks Dom.

Thanks Perry! I'm really enjoying my tank as it is so there's no rush, but growth seems to be improving weekly (per my test results, I've been increasing 2-part weekly), so I can't complain there. :)
