Are you guys offering a discount anytime soon? Any way of signing up for new member discount via email??

You just missed out on a 10% off sitewide sale, but we put new products on sale each and every week! You do get a $5 off coupon emailed to you when you create a new account. It's sent as part of a welcome series so it wouldn't arrive for a few days, although I can PM it to you if you'd like to order today. I would also say the likelihood of it going on sale through some sort of broad sitewide, category or brand promotion within the next couple of months is pretty good.

I have a 90 gal display tank and a 40 gal sump
what skimmer would i need the aquamaxx co-1 or the aquamaxx co-2 ?

Hi Mollydog,

We tend to overstock our tanks so have a preference to use over-sized skimmers. For our own aquariums, we would go with the CO-2. However, if you are better disciplined when it comes to stocking, the CO-1 can definitely do the job.

so the aquamaxx co-1 would do the job if i dont over stock.
but the co-2 would do it and i would not have to think about it.

So i made my decision to go with aquamaxx co-2.
just wondering if there is a sell on them for labor day.

Thank you
Jim

We are still putting the promotion together, so while I cannot guarantee it, odds are pretty good that we will put AquaMaxx gear on sale.

Hi, can an AquaMaxx ConeS CO-2 sit in a 10.25" water level?
Any sales coming up on xmas or end of the year?
Thanks.

Hi blacktangs,

10.25" is just a tad to deep: it may or may not work depending on your organics levels and water viscosity (thickness). It is possible you may need to raise the skimmer or lower the water level slightly. A piece of egg crate (you can find them at most hardware stores) should do the trick in raising the skimmer if needed.

We do have promotions weekly and various products go on sale each week. I would recommend signing up for our newsletters and check out our holiday gift guide for many awesome deals!

@ Marine Depot:
Starting new build.
300 gallon display + 150 gallons in sump/refugium = 450 gallons total volume
planning heavily stocked mixed reef.
Co-5 may not fit (chamber too big to fit between top edge of sump and inside of stand, so it won't go in and out).
Thinking 2x co-3.
Good idea?

Congratulations on the new tank! The CO-5 would be preferrable and should only need about 11" to squeeze through. However, if it not possible, two CO-3's should work just fine. Just keep in mind that with the nature of skimmers and pumps, one will probably pull out more than the other even though they are two of the same. Doesn't effect the overall performance of the system but may feel a little odd to some.

Thank you!
I've only got about 8" between top edge of sump and inside of stand.
Test fit the CO-3 and it goes in and out OK.
I totally understand 2 will skim differently from each other, also kinda like the redundancy of 2 but not so much the added heat and power consumption of 2 pumps. Oh well gotta go with what works.

Will pick up a second CO-3 during next sale...
