NOW IN STOCK: AquaMaxx ConeS CO-2 and CO-3 Protein Skimmers

When do you expect to have the CO-1 back in stock? I'm shopping for a new skimmer and this is one on my list. Thanks!

Did they make it in? It shows today that the em200 is now in stock! I've been on back order for weeks now, I feel like it's Christmas.

Hi, I had a question. There was a piece that came with the skimmer that I couldn't figure out where it goes.

It's a plastic hour glass shaped nylon piece with a thumb screw in it. Where does it go??!?

Hi CjBurden,

The hourglass piece is the pump stabilizer that AquaMaxx started including.

Awesome. Makes a lot of sense because I saw even just putting it together those arms slid a lot but I don't think I ever would have figured out to put it there.

Thanks so much!

ConeS-3 question

ConeS-3 question

Hi just got this skimmer, and running in more than 5 inches of water the skimmer overflows, can't control the height of the water in the neck area. All the videos online show this thing clearly in more water then mine.

I've also noticed that in the lower chamber where the blue cone shaped pieces that force the bubbles up are, i have bubbles all over the place, can't see the cone shapes, on the videos you can clearly see clear water and see the blue cones. what am i missing here? Can it be just part of the break in period?

Help, suggestions would be appreciated.

It's all working good now, just needed some time to break in i guess.

Hi Ralph,

Glad we can help!

Noise is very subjective: what is quiet to one person may be noisy to another. It is very noisy compared to not having a skimmer at all. However, it is fairly quiet compared other skimmers.

Understood, example I had a Vertex 130 with a Sicce pump, it was very quiet in my opinion but I did not like the fact you had to un-screw the cup. How does the CO-1 compare to the example?

Well I just noticed you are of out of stock now, so either I wait for a CO-1 or wait for a EM200, which would be best for the tank along with be quiet?

Hi Ralph,

Vertex skimmers are fairly quiet as well. I would expect it to be very close in terms of noise.

Many of the AquaMaxx skimmers do sell out quick. Some are sold out even before our shipments arrive. Between the CO-1 and EM-200, we would recommend the CO-1 for you as it is plenty for your application: the smaller pump on the CO-1 will be slightly quieter and more energy efficient.

How much water are you running yours in? Started mine up in a brand new tank (zero bio load- all dry rock). and has been overflowing for 36hrs now. I'm in about 8.5-9 in of water. Only way to stop the over flow is raise it to about 4in of water.

This normal break in for this skimmer??
