How not to build a 750/1500 gallon build thread-Khaosinc 3/5/71-8/30/11

Still around... haven't been on much as my computer decieded to have a meltdown this weekend (I'm at work now) always at the worst possible times. All my bill paying stuff is online at this point, and I can't get at most of it...right at the end of the month.

Typical.

Didn't get near enough done this weekend as always. A little re-arranging to hopfully cheer up some of my corals, and tame the green and brown palys I'm sure I will live to regret letting run wild in my tank (I think I'll call them nutrient export...LOL)

Also finished up the covers for the overflow and the sump. Hopeing to cut down the 5 gallons a day of evaperation. The main tank still needs to be covered, but I need to do so no as not to block much light. Many of the fish I want to have are jumpers, and I'd rather not have expensive cat food on the floor in that matter.

no pics.... no way to upload at the moment

+1 on the window screen kits. I've used one on mine now for over 2 1/2 yrs. works perfect.

I have thought about screening, but I'd like to lower my evaporation as much as I can. I've heard horror storys about the damage over time that a large tank can do to a house especially loseing 5 gallons + a day to evaporation. Plus its a pain making all that water all the time LOL.... (hook up fitting, go get beer, come back in 12 hours).

I also live in the pacific Northwest, so its not like we dry out here that often. I am runnning AC to keep the room (and tank) cool, and will most likely have to run a dehumidifier in the winter as well. I already have to tear apart my kitchen at some point to deal with a black mold issue do to some bad piping a while back, I'd rather not have other areas get infected.

not very much... I just woke up.

I don't know what happened to my above posts
You hiccuped just like the mad hiccuper above! And may I proudly proclaim posession of the forth or fifth 1000th post with your permission. All posts may be subject to PBR-Notice.

Don't worry, soon enough I should able to start doing stuff again (like finishing the wall to the fish room before winter maybe) and actually putting stuff in the tank....

Then I'll actually have something to talk about and take pics of.
