I used to work in a hospital as a social worker, and I know about sending people home with all those IVs for MRSA. Hang in there.

My prayers are with you and Tink for strength and support through your difficult time. Prayers for the skill of the surgeons and to all those at the hospital that will be there to help you.

Finally caught up on this thread. I'm really sorry you two have to go through this again but I'm sure the doctors will do their best. Hopefully it all turns out well. If you need some help with the tank or anything myself and maybe a few others are not that far away just north across the border.

I created this account sometime ago to see what this was all about.
as I read through this I have been amazed at the support this community has offered Kev and Tink.

So as we pass this day waiting I thought you folks may appreciate my last interaction
with Kevin.

After a tough night of family meltdowns and hard conversations it was time for Kev's Mom and me to leave. After some tears and hugs we began to leave and with my arm around his Mom I said, "Don't worry we will be there for Tink and all the pets."
He replied instantly, thanks but leave my aquarium alone I do not want it scratched.

Then he started to get out of the hospital bed fueled by pain killers and anti anxiety
drugs. He announced that he needed to go down to computer in the the solarium to post on Reef Central.

One doesn't argue with Kev when he sets his mind to a task. He is stubborn as a mule. So we gently left the room and I approached his nurse and said, "You succeed with the happy pills, he is about to try and get to the computer. (Her term whenever she gave him some) With a loud "what" two of them headed for his room. We left and I see that they won the battle of wills and kept him in bed because he didn't get to post. So I though I would post this for him.

Having read through this blog I have a better understanding why he pursued this passion.

Khaos, why don't you give us a pic intensive update to start off the split. Maybe someone can but together a synopsis of the first half. I did one a while back ago but a lot has happened since. We are all very intersted in finding out how the baby great white is doing

thoughts and prayers are with you buddy , it 's going to get better i promise. this is a is brian the one with the broken neck spinal cord c7 injury . its hard now its only going to get better when you are in too much pain to cope pray . when you cough and you think you can't take it any more pray . and when you get better and the infection is gone and it will be. don't forget how bad you feel right now and pray and thank him for giving you the strenth to make it through .thank him for how good you feel when you are better . there are many people pulling for you my friend . many peoples energy pulling for you , many people praying for you to get better . dear god please help kevin heal and cope with his pain amen...........god bless you my friend . i can relate to you and what you are going through i hope you start feeling better soon. your friend brian....

Like so many others have said today Tink, Dave and Chaos, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Life sometimes throws so much at us that we don't know how, let alone if, we will make it through to tomorrow or even the next hour. But it's in those times that we find something within ourselves that so very few people even believe that they had in them that helps us get through whatever life dishes out to us. Call it strength, call it faith, call it love... I just hope that you are able to tap into it and use it to get through these tough times.

So many people are here pulling for you. Take comfort in knowing that so many are touched by your story and care enough to be glued to their computer waiting for any kind of update.

Like so many others, I am not going anywhere until we know that he is in post-op, awake, and asking where his damn beer is.

Update--The graft is in and he is off the heart and lung machine which means major part of surgery is done..around two more hours in surgery to go.

Dave, thanks so much for the post, Khaos is a legend around here! The Cyborg Reefer says it all. Never met him, but feels like a brother and a freind. Take care of Tink, and the rest of the family/critters that we have grown to know.

That's good news that he's off of the machines and everything is working!! Everytime a post is made on this thread I get an instant email on my phone, and when I saw you posting an update I was shaking while the page was loading, hang in there!!!
