How not to build a 750/1500 gallon build thread-Khaosinc 3/5/71-8/30/11

well i've heard from his stepdad and apparently today the tough part is starting. he's more mentally alert but physically in pain as they are weaning him off the morphine and they keep making him cough to get any gunk out which of course is very painful.
i'm off to get ready to go visit him.

I brought him a balloon and this strange pink elephant thing and a sappy card =)
He seems to be doing alright today, all things considered. Even cracked a joke or two :D

If he is coming off the heavy duty meds and detoxing from the beer, the pink elephant might scare the sh*t out of him. Just saying.
 
Glad to hear he is doing well. Make sure he keeps up with the coughing and using that weird breathing doohickey that the respitory therapists make him use. My husband HATED that thing!
 
LOL yeah I had that thought about the elephant too...apparently he was having some hallucinations the other night but they got it under control by decreasing the morphine.
I'm just waking up and getting ready to visit him again...
Oh and I need to see about making a donate button off paypal. Would that still show my email addy to non members of this forum that are lurking and sending me unwanted emails? (We have a stalker amongst us)
 
Tink hang in there, tell Kev we are all thinking of him and praying for him. You should be able to just block the *&*^*)^& that is sending the e-mails. If he is a member of RS you can drop a PM to one of the mods, and history he shall be :). You can probably pm the email addy to them and they can search for him for you. (Beerguy loves that kind of thing :) ). Anyway, thanks for the updates, keep your chin up and man, Kev is one awesome fighting individual!

It's an ex girlfriend who has given my contact info to all his college alumni. K is a private person in that regard and I'm really too tired to sort through who he wants to be in contact with and not. I gave her his direct email so she can direct them there so he can sort through once he's home and recovering. I just have way too much to deal with right now to get bombarded with that.
I'll look into it later. Gotta go take care of the animals and start headin over to the hospital =)
 
bahaha i don't think he's ready to be televised, LOL.
he's been transferred from ICU to Cardiac Ward which is great. He likes his room much better and got a bunch of tubes removed today. The had him do some laps with a walker and he just looks great compared to the other recoveries. I don't want to jinx anything *knocks on wood* but this time it feels really positive for him. he's also in pretty darned good spirits if you ask me, considering all he's been through.
he's still pretty tired so i kissed him goodnight and headed home so he could rest. thanks all for your continued thoughts.

It's 10:07PM here, I've slept 9 hours over the past three days combined due to a 4 month-old who refuses to sleep more than 10 minutes at a pop. But this AWESOME news about the outcome of this nutso surgery gave me a crazy shot of energy.

Keep the good updates coming! Cripes, much as I hate them for the most part, is this a reality TV show script or what?
