How not to build a 750/1500 gallon build thread-Khaosinc 3/5/71-8/30/11

Apperently I can't catch one. I have bugs they can't even identify.

Either way I am leaving the hospital tommorow. Doc's not very happy and I don't really care. I see no reason I have to sit here 24 hours a day to be monitered when I come in to this dang place every day. So I'm going AMA....

screw them.

be on when I can.

They stopped me by saying my insurance wouldn't pay if I walked out the door without being released. I had removed my IV and was trying to find were they put my stuff.

They said not until my blood pressure dropped but I was so POed that it only kept getting higher every time one of them walked into the room.

Like someone else said, some of those antibiotics burn like hell in the veins. I can only imagine the hell you are going through with wounds like that.

Don't give up.

when i was 15 i had gotton my galbladder removed and yes im a guy one of the things i remember was the iv meds i got for 1 dose it burned like hell

This is from Patrick to khaosinc:

K', You've been in my thoughts and prayers and I'm sorry you're going through this.....I don't wish for any one to have to go through anything that you or I have gone through.....

I have a bad heart condition and haven't worked in 9 months.....Now, I'm waiting on a heart transplant.....Yes, I said transplant.....

Yes, This stuff SUCKS!! I now have 9 cardiologists in 4 different hospitals separated by 400 miles.

As bad as the doctor visits, procedures, hospitalizations and travel are.....The worst is not being able to walk to the bathroom from the kitchen without a break.

Now for the part everyone is going jump down my throat for.....

You remind me in a lot of ways of the friends I ride with, and this is what I would say to one of them:

QUIT YOUR P1SSING AND MOENING ABOUT HOW BAD THINGS ARE AND WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE.....AND BE GRATEFUL FOR WHAT YOU DO HAVE.....AND FOR GODS SAKE, DO WHAT YOUR EFF-ING DOCTORS ARE TELLING YOU TO DO!!!!!

POLLOCK
:)

Don't leave AMA dude. I am a doctor, and I see this stuff all the time... yes it sucks. Antibiotics suck. Antibiotics sometimes cause more infections and even fevers. They hurt going in. They upset your stomach and cause nausea.

But you know what sucks more? A fungal infection on your heart. And that doesn't go away on it's own.

You can blame the doctors and the treatments all you want--they're an easy scapegoat, and that's fine, we're used to taking it. But don't go AMA. Please.

I don't think leaving AMA is a good idea. I'm a CT tech in a Level One Trauma Center and can tell you from my experince that most people who choose to ignore the Doctors advice and go AMA will return in a much WORSE condition later. Please give them another day (and another, or however many necessary) to help save your life. You have your awesome girl Tink and apparently alot of friends that would like to keep you around. Hang tough and continue the treatments you need. You can ***** and gripe all you want about it---just please do it.

Hang in there, khaos ... sendng some good vibes your way. And agree with the above, signing out AMA is probably not the way to go. JMHO.

Hang in there man, hang in. Try and let the experts do their job, as much as you don't think they know what they're doing, sometimes they do. Here's a little comic I saw today that might cheer you up:

Well that just plain sucks K. That trans-esophogeal echo is tough. My husband HATED it, but knew it had to be done. Please don't go AMA. Listen to the doctors. If they haven't consulted an infectious disease doctor, request that they do so ASAP!!

Hang in there.

well for better or worse, I am home. I have had enough of the doctors and half retarded nursing staff, and I've decieded I'm going to take care of this mostly myself. I had a long talk this morning with one of the few docs I respect around there and he isn't happy but couldn't find enough of a hole in my argument to get me to stop. Your body is designed to deal with yeast, so I will deal with that, and *** far as infection, I have a fine immune system and if I get off the damn steroids I can set it loose on the rest of it.

Is this stupid... most likley, but then I never claimed I was smart.

I see no reason to sit around a hospital 24/7 for occational monitering when I go there just about every day anyway for INR testing, and I don't want anyone elses blood in me. I figure if they stop taking it, I can make my own...

I might have been more agreeable with all of this if it wasn't for the underhanded way they got me in (for a quick procedure) then informed me I couldn't leave.

Good luck Buddy. Take care of yourself. We are all rooting for you. We want to see this project through, with you at the helm. (Once you are back to full fitness).

Wow Khao. What a story! First, good luck, you will do fine. I'm sure. Second, I took last two days to read all this. My work is late. Been through some emotional moments in this. I felt a bit the same when last year they told me I had cancer at 32. Passed surgery, six months of Chemio with a first 6 months baby and my tank was a real green hair culture. Passed VERY close to quit the hobby but was too hard to leave a so motivating thing. This is driving us through hard time, keeping us dreaming, having projects, so living. Now everything is back on track and more presentable to attendees. Your tread confirm to me that we must keep having projects and fight to realize them. So I keep planning a 100g tank I wish and for sure show your tread to my wife as a proof of what it means and that, I'm not so crasy after all! LOL. Man, I'm sending you good vibe from the opposite side of the continent and wish you the best.

I didn't find this thread until after it was voted thread of the month and linked to from the homepage, but after reading it, I cannot believe all that khaosinc has been through. The ups, the downs, the demo, the install, the surgery, the recovery, and back and forth, in and out of the hospital.

I simply wish you the best... I'll keep following and cannot wait to see you pull through all of this. That tank will definitely be incredible once you're able to get back at it, but the story that goes along with it will always be something for everyone to remember.

Good luck, best wishes, and don't hesitate to reopen the donation fund if needed. I'm confident there's enough people left willing to donate plenty to help you through all of this -- tank or not.

whats up buddy, since you left the hospital i would really like you to listen to your body and rest . you should get a thermometer if you dont have one and keep track of temp as this is a sighn of infection . if you are running a fever for more than a couple days you should go back to the hospital . because than the antibiotics were not causing the infection it is somthing else . you have something foriegn in your body now with those valves in some way your body is rejecting it . if it keeps up maybe you should go see a different doctor or go to a hospital downtown like swedish or university of wash hospial instead of a po dunk hospital in the sticks . good luck my friend .

Symptoms - You've got a hair algae outbreak in the closed loop..
Cure - Dosing with Vodka of course
Raise up the beneficial bacteria and stop adding the chemical treatments. Let nature run it's course with this cycle.

Was that your basic argument to the doc's?
