Mixed 500 gal. A.G.E. build. 12 unit LED Radion lights.

Looks amazing David! Any chance you're going to have a PAR meter to get some numbers off the LEDs? I know PAR is not always accurate with LED but would be curious to see what type of spread your getting!

I'm thinking my DT could get by with 8 Radions. If I need to add 2 I could easily do that. I'm glad you built the canopy and lights so that you can easily have them out of the way for working. With my build I since I don't need a canopy since it's in wall I'll be using some sort of system to lift the lights up since I'll have ~4-5 feet above the tank to go vertical which will still leave the tank lit up so I can see what I'm doing when I'm raising them.

How far from the surface are your lights? Any options to move them higher/closer?

I wanted to go up but ceiling was to low... A par meter would be nice.

Man, I was just thinking about all of the programming possibilities you will have! You could group each cluster of 4 Radions, and have them come on at different times to simulate and actuall sunrise and sunset coming over the horizen. At least I think, if you know what I mean? You probably could group two at a time and have them come on gradually across the tank.

that would be fun

I mounted the lights directly to the aluminum plate. It did not work as it would push the buttons on top. Lights kept changing modes.

I showed my wife the pic of you laying on top of a full tank working on the lights at ceiling height. Her eyes went wide open and she said she would have to leave the house till you were done!Haha!

PA has a sale on everything and was going to get an AI SOL Blue and Radion Friday but guess those are the two manufacturers that are nazis about discounting equipment:(

Guess I'll take advantage of the savings and get sand, pumps, new controller, plumbing supplies, etc...Big shopping spree and I have tomorrow off to figure out what I'm going to buy! Fixture looks great David....I'm definitely going LED:)

Haha :crazy1: I was expecting an update like "then the board broke, and I decided to take a swim in the new saltwater pool"
The board didnt break. But I did drop a drill bit in the overflow box right after I put the rocks and water in it.:fish1: :fish1: :fish1:
