new camera and lens - pics showoff time!!!

I'd love to have you guys overs especially because my pics stink and no one else appreciates my tank except for you reefers, but my wife doesn't feel comfortable with my 'reef geek strangers' coming to our house. Let me work on her or maybe one day when she's out...sorry though.
I'll Bathe and brush my teeth :D

When did you pick this up? I picked mine up last weekend and another reefer picked up the other one.

But yes, you're right, it's one of the nicest millie's I've seen in a while

I got it late last week. Their colony basically consisted of what covered their 2" frag disk. I think my frag was the last nub that they were able to cut from their colony. But yeah man. I can't wait until this one grows out a little.

Today was an great day! I finally was able to get a partner for my Interrupta. It's just a tad smaller than my current Interrupta. A big thank you to Aaron at the SPS Store for this is awesome gem:

My gem checking out his new tank mate:

I also picked up this fella today too...my first Earlie wrasse! He's a small guy, but Ali at Amazing Aquarium gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. A big thanks to him too:

OK, my spending spree is done after today. After my frag pack from Age and one from Rocky Mountain Frags, these are my to last pickups for a long while. I'm going to keep them in their acclimation boxes for a good week.

Now I need to sacrifice a warm blooded animal to appease the aquarium gods. Let me know if you guys know where I can buy a goat or sheep on the cheap ;)

Oh, can any of you guys ID this fairy wrasse? The stripe on the tail is coming up weird in the picture. It's more of a solid neon blue color. I bought it as a juvenile and I actually thought it was a juvenile female Earlie wrasse at the time, but it's obviously not:

Whatever it is, I'm still very happy with it though. I love the two long streamers on it's underside. They've gotten longer as it's grown.

Many thanks in advance!

You have a picture of your trap?
I am having issues with my sixline pair bullying my naoko pair.
I usually can catch anything but my cube is super full and I don't know where this guys sleep so I might have to get or make one of your trap

I don't have a pic handy but its one of those old cylindrical acrylic traps where you pull the door up and down with a fishing string. I've had it for years. My trick is I use a baster to inject mysis into the trap. All the fish usually will go in there to feed. You may have to catch the more aggressive fish first to give the less aggressive fish a chance to get in there to feed.

OK, so I lied. I had to pick up this beautiful pair of Earlie wrasses that another reefer was selling (thanks again Tactics!) He grew them up since they were juveniles and the supermale and female looked super healthy and fat! I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by. You hardly see Earlie males for sale that are 4" or larger and I conservatively estimate that mine is at least 4.5"

As you can see the supermale is almost as big as my Lineatus and Labouti males:

And is bigger than my Interrupta:

I'm super stoked. I've wanted a supermale Earlie forever and now I have a trio! Although the female is like twice as big as my original Earlie. YaY! OK, I am now officially done buying things for my tank.

Congrats ! Beautiful pair. Need a shot of all your fish out at feeding time :)

Thanks Dave. Will do! I plan on letting the new pair and Interrupta out of their acclimation box on Saturday. The good news is I let the tiny earlie out yesterday and none of my fairy wrasses or other fish showed any aggression towards it. More pics to follow.

Wayne - glad to see the Earleis in their new home. I'm sure they'll appreciate the bigger tank. It's funny that they grew that large in a 4ft tank.

Your selection of fish and coral is amazing.

That is a monster Earlie! Great pickup. I think I'll feed my 2.5" male even more so he can grow big and strong like yours (and with those amazing supermale colors)!

I hope you two Interrupta get along together for you (but if not . . . .:inlove: I'm in the market for one)

I's funny that you say that cuz here what I wrote in the Reef Fish Forum last night:

Well I got a little impatient today and decided to let my new Interrupta out 3 days ahead of schedule. I mean my existing Interrupta wasn't showing any signs of aggression to the new one in it's acclimation box. It seemed like it was ignoring it.

It wasn't a good idea. Right when I let the new one out, mine starting to chase it around my tank fervently. I was extremely worried because I had no idea to how to catch either one. Well luckily, mine laid off the new one for a bit and the new one rested near a corner. I was able to scoop it up quickly with a net and now it's back in it's acclimation box. It was breathing very heavily as with my existing Interrupta too but they've both calmed down. My existing Interrupta is now standing guard around the acclimation box.

PLAN B: I'm gonna catch my existing Interrupta with my fish trap tomorrow. Then I'm going to put it in my refugium for a good 2-3 weeks to let the new Interrupta establish itself in my tank. In that time, the existing Interrupta should un-establish itself too and forget about it's dominance in the tank. I've done this process a couple of times with domineering fairy wrasses and it's worked in the past. So hopefully it'll work this time around too.

Wish me luck guys!

Well, I just caught my Interrupta and put it in time out in my refugium. But now my gem tang is giving the new Interrupta a hard time. I think because the Interrupa has so many spots, it thinks it's a new tang! It's not harassing the Interrupta anywhere near what my Interrupta was doing so I'll see how it goes. If it doesn't stop by this afternoon, I may put my gem tang in time out for a few days too!
