David, carpentry skills not quite up to the wife's expectations? ;)

Nice progress and it is great to have room for a fish room. Before I was cramped with a sump under my tank but having an extra few hundred square feet of basement unfinished is perfect for my frag tank/filtration:) Wife does not know this but that was a huge selling point for me when we bought our new house!

How are you liking the neck cleaner on the SRO? I've been thinking about trying it out on my skimmer but not sure it's worth the investment?

When I was looking it was something like $144 bucks. I think it would be worth the investment. I just have other stuff to buy first.

Yes the extra room is nice. So far there is nothing to skim. But I think the neck scraped is going to be nice. I have heard good things about them.

From my research I'd agree with David. Glass tanks I'd go straight to A.G.E....They also build acrylic tanks and still looking into those and awaiting a quote but seems that acrylic is the same top notch quality as the glass one I'm jealous David has!

Pouring sand Thur the water helped some of the dust and debris get caught up in my sock filters, and skimmer. I did rinse the sand before adding. You can rinse all day and never get it all. It cleared up in day or so. I have 4 more weeks before I can put anything in tank

This part is tough, the wait....

We put sand down, unrinsed, then rock (scooped sand out around rock so rock was on bottom) & then the water. No cloud at all.

Id watch doing it in that order...if rock does not go down first it will settle at some point (scratch glass, crush fish, etc)

We cleared the sand under the rock. All structures have rocks securely on the bottom pvc. Since there is ony 3 "islands" of rocks, it was easy to do.

Andy I was coping off my 220. That is why I had to go with a 1/2" hole.
I re-did my durso the right way 1/4" was to small. I ended up with 3/8".
works good!!!!
